GRAFTED VEGETABLE PLANTSThe technique used in the production of vegetable grafted plants consists of joining two plants with different characteristics:
1) Root Stock - It’s the plant that provides the root system. It is characterised for its high tolerance or resistance to pests and soil diseases, and it can also add vigour to the final plant and a better behaviour in unfavourable conditions.
2) Variety – It’s the one that provides the aerial part of the final plant and therefore will determine the characteristics (shape, taste, colour, etc.) of the obtained fruit.
Therefore, the use of grafts enables us to fight effectively against pests and soil diseases and increase our crops. It is also an environmental-friendly technique, so it can also be used in ecological crops. The advantages and the specific characteristics of each grafted species can be seen in our Grafted Plants Catalogue.
During any time of the year, a prepared team specialized in the production of grafted plants carries out this delicate task.
Frequently we have surplus grafted plants available. Please, check out our showcase in Plants for sale.
